My senior year I got a little MP3 player (oh, the days before iPods……), it fit nicely into this tiny arm band and could hold about 30 songs. Since then I’ve upgraded to a Nano, and my obsession grows. I have three different Playlists that I use for running; it depends on the day and the type of run, but mostly my mood. Last October I ran in the Baltimore Half Marathon. When I received the race packet and it blatantly said “No Headphones/Music Devices Allowed”, I had a full-on mini panic attack. I’m the same way! I need my music to run AND I time my runs with my ipod. I’ve turned around before when my ipod is about to die. I won’t even try running without music. That’s just crazy talk!

i don’t mind the runs w/o the trusty ipod—but i feel you!!! good luck at your race! I am jealous!!!!

I can’t run without music either. Then I start thinking about how much I don’t want to be running and how much farther I have to go. Hate it. Congrats on making it through your last long run!

that song is definitely the jam! and i totally feel your pain of trying to run without music. its like my legs shut down and laugh at me. “you really think i am going to move without your sweet, sweet tunes…think again.”
