Thinking ahead

While this may be a “slow” week compared to the last three, its still far from it. Theme meal is tomorrow. Agh. Lately, I’ve just been thinking ahead…..

….to anytime after 2 p.m. tomorrow. Luncheon done and successful? Fingers. Crossed.  Then I’ll really feel closer to June, when this is Completely over.

…to St. Patty’s Day!! On a Tuesdayyyy. Uh, whoooo. I’ve never done anything celebratory for this holiday besides wearing green every so often. I wasn’t 21 to celebrate in college until Senior Year. And I can’t, for the life of me, remember what we did last year. Not because I was that drunk, I just….really, can’t remember. It was Monday, so my guess would be work or something? And it was probably still snowing so I was probably like ,wtf?! Hmmm….Who knows.

Last night I actually Googled “events”/”best bars” in Baltimore for this crazy Irish holiday. The results were pretty interesting! And the fact that I even did some research is saying a lot right now. Sooo…we’ll see where this goes…

…to March 20th. For no other reason than this: FIRST DAY OF SPRING. Even if the high is nothing more than 40 (well…. lets shoot for like, 50? how about that?), it will no longer be Winter. And I’ll just smile about that.

…to Cherry Blossom Season! Apparently this is gorgy in DC, so I’m excited for it. I don’t need an excuse to hop on the Metro and explore the streets of DC for an afternoon. I love it. If hundreds of pink blooming trees are thrown into the mix, I’ll love that too.

….to the last weekend in March. Half-marathon #4! In Pittsburgh, again! All of which means I get a half-day off of work, a road trip, and a weekend with one of my faaavorite college roomies. Good stuff.

…and….to bedtime. Like, now. I’m exhausted, and there’s a Big day ahead.

Hello Detox, I need you

The hot-doggers are gone, and life here is back to ‘normal’. Hm, sad day.

On the other hand, my body went ahead and Demanded a detox week. I woke up this morning feeling like craaaaap, popped some Motrin and tried to survive 5 hours of “class”. Gah. That was rough.

I know that three weeks of going out, happy hours, driving, less sleep, more running, work and class…..it’s catching up to me.  Not that I would’ve changed a single thing. It was too fun!

As much as I’d love to say this week is devoted to “relaxing”, it’s far from true. This week we’re finally executing our “theme meal” (one of a few Big projects we have on the agenda throughout the Internship). It’s been 4 weeks of planning and working on it, and now it’s time to decorate, make the food, serve the food, and get it overwith! I know that the event itself will be fun. I also know I can breathe easy on Fridayyyy. Lookin’ forward to that.

So, I’m off to begin my “more sleep, less drinks” week. Hopefully the running will stay intact and the achy-sick feeling will Not.

Adventures with the hot-doggers, Round 2!

Almost three weeks later, they’re still here!

LOVE IT .

Turns out that in the process of being re-located (ah, the life of the Weinermobile)- Annapolis, MD → McLean, VA – they are just about the same distance away (actually a little closer), in a different direction. This area continues to amaze me. So, in the meantime, the adventures have continued.

As you can read about below, DUFF (from Ace of Cakes!) called LB and was all for the Weinermobile making an appearance at the famous Cake Shop. This rendezvous was all set for Monday at Noon. WELL. Let’s just say, I spoke too soon. Rather than continuing the pattern towards warmer weather and hopes of Spring, the Maryland sky decided against our little date. Instead, it dumped 8 f-ing inches of SNOW all over the state on Sunday night. Subsequently, I didn’t give my scheduled presentation Monday morning, the 27-foot hot dog car couldn’t make it out of Annapolis, and even my “work” day was cancelled. Whaaaat?! It snows like twice this entire winter. Where did this come from?! Nobody knows. Gah.

Uh. Anyway.

After rescheduling 3 times (whoa, those bakers are busyyyy), it ended up that I couldn’t make it. Instead I was sitting in a Maryland State Senate meeting listening to debates. Random? Yup. But LB and AA had a greeeeat time, and I think you will enjoy these pics!

Adventures with the Hot-Doggers, Round 1

The visitors have left MD and moved on….to VA. Yup, still close! Love it.

But, the past 10 days have been packed with photo-ops and good times. So! Here are a few glimpses into the Life of a Hot-Dogger, and us tour-guides/roomies that gallivant around with them!

Exploring adventures were cut a little short by the fact that it was chillyyyy over the weekend.
But we saw a lot during Round 1!

Meeting the ACE

I have a small announcement to make.

Tomorrow, I am meeting THE Ace of Cakes. Duff. From Charm City Cakes.

So. As I mentioned, I took LB and AA (wienermobile-ers) to see the famous Cake shop last weekend. This was the second trip in a month for me. Yes, you can only stand outside and sit and stare. But, totally worth it. I looove that show and it’s so cool that the shop itself is just Right there.

Anyway. We went, took pictures, marveled, and got ready to go. LB had her business cards with her and somebody had an idea: write Duff a note on the back! Somewhere along the lines of…..”Hey, we drive the wienermobile and would love to come meet you, and we’ll bring the 27-foot long hot dog car!! Sincerely, LB”. Yea that’s not exactly what it said, but you get it. She left her cell # and we thought “Omg it’d be so cool if he called!”

Oh. He called.

A few days later I’m on the way back from work, and I get a call from a very excited LB. She had this message for me: THEY CALLED! WE’RE GOING TO THE CAKE SHOP MONDAY AT 11 !!!!!

Nevermind the fact that I have a huge presentation tomorrow morning at 9:30 a.m. It’s just a little project I’ve been working on for about 4 months. Which I’m very ready to get out of the way!

After that, I’m meeting up with those crazy hot-doggers and getting my camera ready!!
