As of Monday

…my morning jogs will be a little bit different.

They’ll be mapped out by a mini-GPS system.

Clocked by a timer.

Compared with my previous runs (if I want them to be).

And monitoring my heart-rate. (well…..if I use the heart-rate-monitor. hmmm.)

Thanks to this little beauty….

It’s my birthday present from the parents. And I didn’t even know these things existed. It was all them. I gotta say, i was pretty impressed! And uhh, excited!

Anyone use this thing?? Wantsto share thoughts/reviews??…..I’m all ears!

  1. Exciting stuff! I have a Garmin, but not this version, the last one. It’s quite a bit bulkier than this one (looks like it’s a McGiver watch for a big beefy man and looks kind of awkward on me). But, it is cool to have. Usually, I only wear it and the heart rate monitor on really long runs as it takes a while to calibrate (hook into the satellite system). Plus, if there are too many trees or clouds out it refuses to kick in. But, when it is working, it’s awesome. I love being able to see my pace at any moment, the distance, my heart rate and even the number of calories it thinks I burned at the end. Enjoy the new watch!

  4. That is the coolest idea & most thoughtful gift all wrapped up into one! Has it made a huge difference on your recent runs??

  5. I’ve only used it a few times so far, but it’s awesome!! I can’t figure out how to get the ‘backlight’ to come on (gah), so I couldn’t see it the other night. Buuut it is definitely interesting to watch your pace change throughout a run and see how far you’re going. Gooood stuff, I’d definitely recommend it
